Bonefish Grill Pentagon Row Reviewed

By Kuppan Gayathri

Bonefish Grill Pentagon Row is a nice new addition to the restaurants in Pentagon City. We had dinner there the other night and had a really nice experience. Bonefish Grill Pentagon Row runs a great happy hour special with drinks and appetizer specials from 4pm – 6:30pm.

The specials vary from call drinks and wine to different appetizers, but keep in mind they are very precious about the end of happy hour at 6:30pm. We started with a couple of $5 happy hour appetizers and a drink each, I LOVE to start off with a fun martini and Bonefish Grill did not disappoint.

Next we each moved on to one of their wood grilled fish, my husband had the Ahi Tuna and I had Chilean Sea Bass. The waiters at Bonefish Grill Pentagon Row suggested the Tuna be cooked medium, but if my husband had it to do all over again, he would have done rare or medium rare. the waitstaff is very accommodating, however, they let us know they were all new. Having some experience in the restaurant business, I know this isn’t an issue, it just takes some time for the staff to get up and rolling.

All and all I would say that the restaurant was a very nice experience. We hired a babysitter and were in no hurry, as parents of two small kids, we enjoyed the time to chat. However, Bonefish Grill Pentagon Row seems to be rolling out a “soft launch” as they get some kinks worked out of their process. The meal was slower between courses, but the staff was friendly and accommodating and again, we were in no rush. The slower pace for us was actually a treat.

We plan to return in the next month or so once they have been open in Pentagon City for a little bit and see if they are able to establish a more speedy rhythm as I anticipate they are going to get a lot more busy as people realize Bonefish Grill Pentagon Row is there and open for business.

In summary, the food was very good, the service was good but things were a bit slow. We loved the atmosphere and the fact that it is a nice restaurant walking distance to the Addison Heights, Aurora Highlands neighborhood. Unfortunately, they don’t validate parking, hopefully that is something they will change in the future.
